Preserving Centuried Odia Mastercraft
Rooted in an unbroken 4,000-year-old metallurgical lineage dating back to Mohenjo-Daro, this Dhokra elephant is forged without any industrial machinery. Tribal artisans create a core of alluvial river clay, coat it with spiraled beeswax strings to form the ceremonial saddle, bells, and tusk adornments, and encase it in a kiln mold that is sacrificed during the molten brass pour.
